I use to have acne-prone skin and I don’t get hormonal imbalances but I got myself a very stubborn zit right on my nose that I needed to get rid of. Since I haven’t been using acne products, I took a shot in the dark and found Garnier’s SkinAct PureActive products and thought I’d try them.
/Jag hade aknehud när jag växte upp och jag får inte hormonella obalans i huden men… Jag fick en väldigt envis zit precis på min näsa som jag behövde bli av med. Eftersom jag inte har använt akneprodukter på ett tag så tog jag ett skott i mörkret och fann Garniers SkinAct PureActive-produkter och tänkte jag kan lika väl testa!

First of all, if you have sensitive skin and/or react to Salicylic acid, I can already tell you that these products are not for you. (and if you’re pregnant, not the optimal choice either…) I personally have used salicylic products in my teen years so I do not have an issue with it. Moving onto the two products I decided to get.
/Först och främst, om du har känslig hud och  eller reagerar på salicylsyra, kan jag redan berätta att dessa produkter inte är för dig. (Och om du är gravid är det inte optimalt att använda detta heller). Personligen har jag använt salicylprodukter som tonårig, så jag har inga problem med det.

Garnier SkinActive PureActive Intensive – Advanced Cleansing ExfoBrusher

The first product I decided on getting was the Garnier Advanced Cleansing ExfoBrusher (99kr/150ml). I was mainly drawn to the flexible micro hairs that are on the top since I am travelling and of course forgot my clarisonic at home. The head of the product rotates with an ON and OFF which is perfect also for travelling and the cap itself also has little holes to allow drying of the micro hairs.
/Den första produkten som jag bestämde mig för att testa var Garnier Advanced Cleansing ExfoBrusher (99kr / 150ml). Jag ville testa produkten huvudsakligen på grund av de flexibla mikrohåren eftersom jag reser och förstås glömde min clarisonic hemma. Produktens huvud roterar med en på och av “knapp” som är perfekt även för att resa och själva cap har små hål för att möjliggöra torkning av mikrohåren.

The product has ingredients as Salicylic Acid as well as blueberry extract which is an antioxidant and therefore works on protecting the skin from cell damage along with many other benefits. It is also said to have no parabens. I did like the exfobrush head with the on/off function on it. The So Much a Dew Mask from Sampar also has the same function. Super smart!
/Produkten har ingredienser som salicylsyra och blåbärsextrakt som är en antioxidant och arbetar därför med att skydda huden mot cellskador tillsammans med många andra fördelar. Det sägs också ha inga parabener. Jag tyckte om exfobrush-huvudet med på / av-funktionen på den. Den So Much a Dew Mask från Sampar har också samma funktion. Super smart!

Garnier SkinActive PureActive 24h* Moisturising Care Anti-imperfections

As for the PureActive Moisturizer, the product is a light moisturizer, almost gel-whipped in consistency and is said to also give 24hour hydration. Ingredients include mineral zinc and salicylic acid to regulate oil but also hydrate.
/PureActive Moisturizer är en produkt som är en lätt fuktkräm, nästan gel-liknande i konsistens och sägs att ge 24h fukt till huden. Ingredienser inkluderar mineralzink och salicylsyra för att reglera oljan men också ge fukt.

My Experience with the Garnier’s PureActive products

As mentioned, I just want to get rid of this huge zit on my nose so I have mainly been using the products around my nose area where the acne is contained. I do have some acne scarring from when I was a teen but nothing I am sensitive about now.
/Som jag skrev tidigare, vill jag bara bli av med den här stora zit på min näsa, så jag har huvudsakligen använt produkterna runt mitt näsaområde där den finns. Jag har lite akne ärr från när jag var en tonåring men ingenting jag känner är jobbiga.

I used the exfobrusher 3 times this week and then followed up with the moisturising cream. They do have a cooling effect to them and I noticed after 5 minutes that they do feel drying ot the skin. For those of you with dry and sensitive skin, these will effect your skin drastically. I love the brush on the exfobrusher, it reminds me of Sephora’s mini exfoliating pad that I usually purchase. I used round motions and with a light touch to exfoliate and distribute product evenly.
/Jag använde exfobrusher 3 gånger i veckan och följde sedan upp med fuktgivande krämen. De har en kylningseffekt och jag märkte efter 5 minuter att de känner att de torkar ut huden. För dig som har en torr och känslig hud, kommer de att påverka din hud drastiskt. Jag älskar borsten på exfobrusher, det påminner mig om Sephoras mini exfoliating pad som jag brukar köpa. Jag använde runda rörelser och med en lätt tryck för att exfoliera och distribuera produkten jämnt.

As for the moisturizer, I am unsure if product actually worked or not. I did notice a very cooling effect, almost stinging after I used the cleanser. It absorbs super quick into the skin, almost giving the illusion that you didn’t apply enough of the product. I would recommend it as a spot treatment rather than a full face moisturizer. I find that it is very cooling but not as moisturizing as I would have liked it to be. It is said to by anti-redness and enlarged pores and unfortunately this product did not do much for them on my skin. Together with the exfobrush though, they do make a good pair if you are wanting to spot treat a stubborn zit!
/Fuktkrämen är jag osäker på om produkten faktiskt fungerade eller inte. Jag märkte en kylande effekt, nästan lite “stinging” känsla efter att jag använde rengöringen. Det absorberar super snabbt i huden, vilket nästan ger illusionen att du inte applicerade tillräckligt med produkten. Jag skulle rekommendera det som en punktbehandling snarare än ett fullständigt ansiktsskyddande kräm. Jag tycker att det är mycket kylande men inte så fuktgivande som jag skulle ha velat det vara. Det sägs att med anti-rodnad och jobbar på förstorade porer och tyvärr gjorde denna produkt inte mycket för dem på min hud. Tillsammans med exfobrushen gör de dock ett bra par om du vill bli av med en envis zit!

Would I repurchase the products? Probably not as I do not have acne-prone skin. They did work as a spot treatment and I did notice a slight difference in a few of my acne scars.
/Skulle jag köpa produkterna igen? Förmodligen inte då jag har inte akne hud. De fungerade som en punktbehandling och jag märkte lite skillnad i några av mina akne ärr.
